deleting my twitpic account today

Actually there is no way to delete your twitpic account as it seems, that itself is a no-go to me in general. I will delete my 150 pictures there manually today and disallow connections to twitter.

This is why. Never liked using twitpic anyway, that is why i started this list some time ago.
I hope that twitpic will wake up and talk to Sachin personally like grown-ups instead of acting like kids. Cause in the end it's not only one of my most favorite startups (posterous) that suffers from this by losing time and money but the users.
Sachin offered twitpic to be friends yesterday, and i like that a lot better.

It brings up a general thought also, think twice where you keep your data.
Always check if there are ways to export your data and delete your account with all the content if you want (or need to) do so at any time.

Posterous silently changes external links on users' posts /via Alexey Shamrin

... Instead of

http://www.google.com
you'll get
http://api.viglink.com/api/click?key=8eb8c964d427e97a1567cec6532655f0...
...
Aha! Posterous is using third-party service here - VigLink. I haven't heard of it before (even Hacker News is now silent about it).

Oh, that is interesting... please read Sachins comment also, as an official statement from posterous.

posterous bookmarklet suggestion

This is a little question / suggestion.
When using the posterous bookmarklet i'm always confused of the positions of the link to toggle the advanced settings.

Wouldn't it be better to keep it at the same place in the bottom right corner?Probably rename it to "toggle advanced view" or something.

It feels strange to move the mouse back up there for me.
But maybe that is just me and the way i am using the bookmarklet.
First i select a picture or text excerpt, sometimes i write a little comment, then i go to advanced, set tags and autoposts and then i usually go back and check the first screen, then I hit "Post".I think i never hit "Post" in the advanced view.
What do you think?
